Breeding and raising superior quality suri alpacas in the heart of Florida!

The animals are home!

Our first alpacas and llamas arrived at Lake Liaho Farm on Sunday, October 14.  Kody and Bandit, our two guard llamas, along with Wari, Champagne, LisaMarie, Lurissa and Idlewyld got off Pat Finke's trailor and entered their new barn and pasture here a Lake Liaho.  Everyone settled in very easily, and seemed to take to their new home right away.  On October 16 they were joined by five other alpacas from Griffonwood Alpacas, owned by Bill and Sherry Leslie.  Hubba Bubba, Crimson Tide, Ripple, Sadie Ann and Dressy joined the little family that was already here.  Right now all the females are sharing the choicest pasture that has lakefront views.  The two llamas and adult males are sharing the largest male pasture.

Steve and I have fallen in love with caring for these animals.  I spend much of my time just hanging out with them in the barn and watching how they interact with each other.  All of the animals are very calm and good natured around their human companions.  No one has tried to spit or kick or show any sign of aggression.  We have only experienced humming from the animals as they have gotten used to a new place and a new social hierarchy among themselves.

Our two great danes, Maud and Hazel enjoy  being out in the barn with us and interacting with these new residents here at the farm.  Both dogs have been nose to nose with Bandit, one of the llamas on many occasions.  There is a lot of mutual interest in getting to know one another safely over a fence.  The dogs are never allowed in the pasture with the animals, but they thoroughly enjoy visiting with them over the fence, and occasionally running along the fenceline, if they get away with it!
