Florida Expo Show

Last weekend we attended the Florida Expo Alpaca show with three of our young male alpacas: Heli Arc, Crimson Tide and Lakota.  They each earned a ribbon.  Heli Arc placed 2nd in the fawn yearling male class.  Crimson Tide came in 6th in the brown Yearling male class.  Lakota placed 2nd in the juvenile fawn class.  Overall we were pleased that all the boys were "in the ribbons".  The most exciting news of the show, however, was our purchase of a 1/4 interest in a new herdsire.  We went in with Southern Oaks Alpacas in purchasing a piece of a beautiful rose grey male from Nebraska who at the age of sixteen months has already won blue ribbons in every show he has been in, including this Florida Expo.  He is a stunning, full accoyo rose grey.  He will be in Florida next fall after competing in the 2009 Futurity and AOBA Nationals, settling his first females.  Much more on him to come...
