Two preemies were born on our farm in October of 2009.  As you can see, they have not only survived, but are now healthy and growing cria, who love to run all over the pasture and play with each other.

We are fortunate that these two little ones have survived a rough start in life and are active and healthy cria today.  Both cria received plasma transfusions and were fed through a syringe every 2 hours for the first few days of their lives.  We believe that their moms went into early labor because of the extreem heat wave that hit Central Florida in October.  We plan to push back our breeding schedule this year to begin in late January or early February of 2010.  I want all my pregnant dams to enjoy cool weather during the last three months of their pregnancies next year.
